Stan Slaughter & Linda Chubbuck, Tall Oak Productions

Tall Oak Productions creates seeds for sustainable culture. For over 30 years, it’s been creating music, projects and learning opportunities for all ages.

Stan Slaughter of Tall Oak Productions has worked tirelessly for the Ozark bioregion throughout his career. Now based in Kansas City, he is an artist and educator, focused especially on soil health and native plants. Eco-troubador, Evangelical Composter, and much more, his life mission grew out of an experience in the Ozarks forest. As The Eco-Troubadour, he has traveled the country singing songs and sharing stories with kids and adults since 1987.  He is one of the regular highlights of OACC gatherings, having been to every OACC except one. He brings a deep love of the Ozarks and the Earth combined with action-orientation.

When he first moved to the Ozarks as a young man an in the 1970’s, he took on the job of building his own home. In the process, he cut the best trees on the land. Then, in a waking meditation in the woods, he received the image that he was right in taking the trees but that he was now in charge, tasked with becoming a Tall Oak by taking on the role of the big trees:  feeding the biology, providing the shelter, the microbiome and sheparding the community. From this vision came the name for his business, Tall Oak Productions, LLC.
